Jonathan Lucroy returns to Miller park today and he brought a friend with him. His name is Jim Henderson and he’s been closing games for the Nashville Sounds. Since he isn’t on the roster, that means someone from the current bullpen has either been traded, demoted, or designated for assignment. Stay tuned.
Who do you think Henderson could be replacing?
Speaking of Jonathan Lucroy, my sister met him and got his autograph about two weeks ago. She was so overcome with excitement that she burst into tears. One of the best days of her life, I say. :-)
Jonathan Lucroy is set to return to the Brewers rotation this Friday for the Nationals home series. That means that either Martin Maldonado is set down or George Kottaras gets moved.
I read recent rumors that some teams have called and asked about Kottaras. Perhaps he could be traded in a 2-for-1 deal with Randy Wolf? But as Wolf said yesterday, no one is interested in a pitcher with a 5-something ERA. Though, maybe he’d have a better win/loss record if he’s got a solid bullpen backing him up on a different team?
Honestly, I don’t know how Wolf hasn’t murdered the bullpen for having shafted him so frequently this season.
The wall of fame!
Jonathan Lucroy was signing autographs at Robert Haack Diamonds on 6/28 and two of my friends surprised me with my own!
Ron Roenicke has been selected as a National League coach for this year’s All-Star Game!
Other ASG notes:
Ryan Braun is third in most votes for outfielders, making it his fifth consecutive ASG.
Jonathan Lucroy, albeit injury, continues to get high votes as well.
WAY TO GO BREWERS!
While I know we’re all sad that Jonathan Lucroy is out for the next couple of weeks, he is spending both his time rehabbing and tweeting! Follow him at @JLucroy20. He said recently that he’ll be starting his rehab assignment in a week in a half after he gets his cast off. I hope this means he will return safe and sound!
Also, bullpen set-up-guy, Vinnie Chulk, has recently joined. He is @VChulk.
Old news, or maybe new to some, George Kottaras is also on Twitter. @GeorgeKottaras
CHECK THEM OUT YO.
Jonathan Lucroy is kind of like a guy who saved your kitty from a tree and as a thank you for his kindness, he comes over for Sunday dinners. Yeah, that’s the kind of reception he gets on field. And that’s why we miss him.
Luccc!
The Jonathan Lucroy bobblehead will be given out on 4/22 v. COL. If my sister can’t make it to this game, I’m giving her mine. =)
